About Us
New Hyde Park Lodge merged with North Shore Lodge in 2014. Together, we continue to thrive carrying out the Grand Lodge programs, exceeding our per-capital goals and tirelessly working for and with-in our community. While both Lodge's had a long and proud history spanning more than 100 years, together we are now a united force that depicts what Elkdom truly means.
Our Lodge boasts one of the most active membership throughout New York State. Practically every week night, you'll find the building filled with people using the facilities for the good work of Elkdom or servicing other community groups such as the Mason Lodges, Doe Club, Fraternal Order of Police, hosting fund-raisers for needy causes and not-for-profits, general membership or committee meetings or just great social activities for our membership. Over the years thousand of individuals have been members including Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.
While the building may be used extensively, the membership also goes out and supports our community through our various committees and their charitable works. We regularly visit the veterans hospitalized at St. Albans Veterans home and throw a great summertime Bar-B-Que for them complete with entertainment. Our scholarship committee interviews the top students in our local schools and together with our sister Doe Club present thousands in scholarship awards yearly. Our Dictionary project committee presents a new dictionary to every third grade within our local school district. This is just a small sampling of the many charitable works we continue to do.
