To be eligible for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a citizen of the United States, oat least 21 years old, be of good character, and believes in God.

You can be sponsored by any member in good standing from any lodge in the country. You'll also need two other Elks who will be your references. Please follow all instructions on the membership inquiry form and answer all questions. If applying via hard copy, please return your completed application to our Lodge Secretary at our Lodge or mail it to our office at 901 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park, NY 11040.Your application will be forwarded to the Investigating Committee, who will contact you and set up a time for you to meet with the committee for an interview.

After the interview is concluded, the committee will report to the Lodge concerning your membership. The members will be given a notice not less than 10 days nor more than two months before the vote will be taken on the floor of a general membership meeting.
If approved, you will be notified and asked to present yourself for indoctrination and initiation. During indoctrination, you will learn more about the Order's programs and charities. After initiation as an Elk, you can take part in all meetings and social functions of the Lodge. If for any reason your application is rejected, you can submit a new application for membership after six months from the date of rejection.
If you were a prior member of 2107 and your dues has lapsed for more than 3 years you can apply for reinstatement. Simply come down to the Lodge any meeting night and ask the Secretary for a Reinstatement Application. Fill it out and return with reinstatement fee. The investigation committee will revisit your application and contact you. They will make their recommendation at a regular meeting. After the Lodge votes, you will be notified by the Secretary.
