Greetings Brother and Sister Elks:

Greetings and Happy Summer!   Though many things at the Lodge tend to slow down during these summer months, it does not mean we do not have a few events planned.   

In June we have two great public events.  Our annual car show, run by Jimmy Scarry and Robert Gartner on Saturday, June 1 and our annual Flag Day ceremony on Wednesday, June 12.  At this event we will also be awarding our annual scholarships to our local youth as well as recognizing our Elk of The Year, Ed Parise.   Please come out and join us for these two wonderful events. 

This past May, I had the privilege to attend our NYS Elks Association Spring Conference which was held at Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, NY.  This was attended by many Elks and 2107 was well represented by our Leading Knight, Anthony Vitale and his wife Regina, Secretary Kathleen Lang, Treasurer Rober Giglio, and our District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Designate Brian Diaz. 

During the first part of July, I will be in Austin, TX for the annual Grand Lodge Convention which brings me to the next topic.   During this trip, I will have the honor and privilege of seeing New Hyde Park-North Shore’s own Brian Diaz be installed as the South District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler!  Congratulations Brian, I know you will do an amazing job.

I would like to thank our outgoing Tiler, Robert Gartner, for his service as a Lodge officer the past few years. Due to Robert's amazing commitment to being a first responder, he has stepped away from his position.  In his absence, I have appointed Michael Dolan as Tiler for the remainder of the year.   

In closing, I want to wish you and your families a very Happy 4th of July, and a safe and fun filled summer with family, backyard BBQs and some much-needed down time.  I look forward to seeing you all when we head into Fall and our calendar of events begins to take shape.
