New Hyde Park

Doe Club

Dear Sister Does and my Elk friends,

I hope this column finds you all well and that you had a great summer. Now it is time to look ahead to the many events planned by the Doe Club as well as the Elks.

I will once again serve as President of The Doe Club for one more final year. It has been the most amazing five years of my life and I’m so thankful for the many friends I have made along the way. This decision is bitter sweet, but it’s time for someone else to lead the club going for- ward. I thank you for your support, love, and friendship.

The last few months have been quite busy. In June, the Elks held their annual Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show. This turned out to be a very successful event with many participants and spectators. The Does celebrated our Appreciation Dinner. This proved to be a wonderful night with music, dancing, raffle prizes and 50/50. I would like to thank Chris Petrella for attending and always supporting the Doe Club and our functions. The most amazing thing happened and I’m sure it is a one in a million. We raffled two Mets ticket baskets (tickets generously donated by Brian Diaz) and the same winners of last year’s Mets tickets were won by the same gentle- men--what were the chances!

The Elks and Does celebrated Flag Day, the day we honor our Country and our serviceman and women for all their sacrifices. Scholarships were awarded by the Does to Anjelica Tang and for the Elks, Rose Brissault. Congratulations, ladies.

Coming this Fall - Tuesday, September 12th the Does will be kicking off our first event of the new season with our ever so popular VINO BINGO. See the Doe September Newsletter and the Elk Bulletin for more information or call Edna Rakaska 718-347-4869.

On Tuesday, October 17th the Doe Club proudly presents PIRATES REVENGE. This is a fun-filled night with table games, food, raffles, prizes and 50/50. See the Doe September Newsletter and the Elk Bulletin for more information or call Edna Rakaska 718-347-4869.

The Elks have a number of upcoming events: September 23rd is Oktoberfest; September 25th is Birthday Night, and October 21st is Italian Night. See the Elk Bulletin for more information.

Mark your calendars now for November – the Does LCR night on Friday, November 17th; and the Elks American Night on Saturday, November 11th.

Please support the Does and the Elks by participating in these fun-filled events, and thank you for your continued attendance and support.

It looks like a great calendar so please make every effort to support your organizations and I hope to see each and every one of you at these events.
