New Hyde Park - North Shore Elks Lodge #2107

New Hyde Park

Doe Club

Dear Sister Does and my Elk friends:

Summer is finally here and the weather looks to be warming up.  All of us will have many adventures, events, and vacations to look forward to.

The Does had their annual installation of Officers on April 2.  I have stepped down after five years and I am proud to have left the Does in the capable hands of my successor, Carmen Musumeci.

On April 19, the Does held a very successful Chinese Auction to benefit Cerebral Palsy.  Thanks to seven remarkable ladies – Anna, Vicki, Ingrid, Fran, Fran, Linda, and Gail.

Congratulations Chris Horvath and Debbie Robertson for a fabulous Sock Hop, an amazing night of music, raffles, and nostalgia.  The Does would like to thank Brian Diaz for his donation of two sets of Mets tickets for our event.  The lucky winners were Nancy Ridgwell and Marie Greco.

The Elks had their installation of Officers on April 7, and as always, it was a beautiful ceremony.  Chris Petrella will be serving one more year as Exalted Ruler.  I have had the honor of serving with Chris for the past three years and call him my friend. Our new President, Carmen Musumeci, and the Doe Club presented the Elks with a donation of $10,000.

The Elks Polish Night was April 27.  Good food and great music--a good night was had by all. If you enjoyed the music then, be sure to come to Oktoberfest on September 21, for more of the same.

Wednesday, June 12, at 8:00 pm, the Does and Elks will celebrate Flag Day. This very special night honors our country and awards several deserving young people chosen on their merit to receive scholarships.  Please come and join us on this wonderful night with collation to follow.

On Friday, September 13 the ever so popular Vino Bingo will kick off our new event calendar.

So please support the Does and Elks by participating in these fun-filled events. Enjoy your summer; until then, be safe.
