New Hyde Park - North Shore Elks Lodge #2107

New Hyde Park

Doe Club

Dear Sister Does and my Elk friends,

As promised, so many wonderful functions and events from both the Does and the Elks have been well attended. I’m sure those of you who have come had a wonderful time. The Elks had a very successful Super Bowl party. I even won twice so I was very happy. Irish Night came early, and what a night it was. Food, music, raffles, and the Irish step dancers who stole the show. Carmela’s Casino Trip was on St. Patrick’s Day (next one is June). Birthday Night was at the end of March, the best dinner out you can get for $10.00. On March 26 the Doe Club held their Supermarket Bingo. Proceeds from this event benefit our Scholarship fund. A very successful evening—thank you Carol Cardiff and Karen Seligson for a fabulous night.

Mark your calendar and “Save these Doe Dates”.

April 2 – Installation of Officers. It’s time for me to step down after five years of service. I am happy to announce our new President will be Carmen Musumeci and I could not be happier to turn this organization over into her very capable hands.

Friday, April 19 – Chinese Auction. This function will be chaired by seven of the most wonderful Does and I thank you all in advance for your hard work. The proceeds of this event will benefit Cerebral Palsy. Complete sit-down Chinese dinner, raffles, 50/50—all

for the cost of $35.00 pp! Advance reservations needed. Contact Edna Rakaska at 718.347.4869.

Friday, May 17 – Sock Hop. An evening of nostalgia and “happy days”. Let the good times roll $50 pp. Family style chicken and ribs, music, dancing, raffles, 50/50. Advance reservations absolutely needed. Contact Edna Rakaska at 718.347.4869.

Friday, June 21 – Doe Attendance Dinner. This year it will be held at the Stewart Manor Country Club. Details to come.

Please support the Does and the Elks by participating in these fun-filled events. Thank you for your continued attendance and support.
